Your first order from Magical Proxy, start to finish

Singles, bundles, Land Packs, currency, shipping and tracking, explained the way I would across the counter. Read it before your first cart.

Most first orders go sideways in one of three places: the wrong finish, a currency change at the last step, or an address typed in a hurry. This follows a typical order from the catalogue to your mailbox. Where a number changes, I will point you to the page that shows it.

What you are buying

We print catalogue designs on 330gsm black-core cardstock with a smooth finish, cut to standard trading card size. They shuffle and sleeve like the cards you already own.

They are for casual play, playtesting and your own collection. They are not for sanctioned events, and they are not originals, so please do not sell them as originals. Reselling our printed cards to third parties is not permitted.

Singles, bundles or Land Packs

Singles are one card design. You pick the design, the quantity and the finish.

Bundles are a fixed pack that we stock as its own product. Buying a bundle does not use up the stock of the singles inside it.

Land Packs are the one where you build the mix. You choose how many of each component card goes in, and the pack uses one finish for the whole lot. The price comes from the cards you picked, minus a percentage that grows as the pack grows. We think Land Packs are the most fun way to fill out a deck's basic lands. They are also the easiest to get wrong if you do the math in your head, so let the cart do it.

Regular or foil

Where a design offers both, the product page shows it. Foil costs more and shifts with the light. We would skip foil for a playtest deck you plan to shuffle a hundred times, and go foil for the card you want to show off.

Foil is never sold on backorder. If the foil version of a card is out of stock, you will see it marked unavailable instead of a longer wait. Regular cards can sometimes be ordered while short. The cart tells you how many are short and how many extra days to allow.

Quantity discounts, without a code

Quantity discounts are automatic. You never type anything in.

Singles and bundles each have their own tiers. The cart adds up your Singles quantity across the whole order and applies the highest tier you have reached to that group. Bundles are counted the same way, separately. The cart also lists the tiers you have not reached yet, closest first, so you can see how far away the next one is. The exact tiers and percentages are on the Shipping and Discounts page.

Land Packs have their own rule, and the pack page shows its percentages.

A tier only helps if the total really goes down, so compare cart totals before you add cards just to reach a number.

Dollars or euros

US visitors see prices in USD by default. The USD prices are fixed amounts that we set, not a live conversion, so they do not drift while you shop.

Checkout charges one currency, and it is picked from your delivery country. A US address is charged in USD. If you browsed in euros first, the amounts can change once you enter a US address, because checkout follows the destination, not the currency you last looked at. Enter your country first, then compare totals.

Shipping methods and how long they take

Shipping is set up in three zones: Spain, Europe and International. Each zone can offer a Standard method and a Tracked method, and checkout shows only what your country gets. Standard may not include tracking at all, so pick Tracked if you want to follow the parcel.

Delivery windows, in business days, are on the Shipping and Discounts page under each zone. The estimate for your address is shown at checkout before you pay. Those are estimates, not guarantees, unless a guaranteed date is stated. Free-shipping thresholds are also listed per method and zone, and the cart shows your progress toward one.

The full terms sit on the Shipping, Returns and Withdrawal page. The policy says we deliver without undue delay and no later than 30 calendar days after the order, unless you agree a different period before paying. That is a ceiling, not a promise of speed.

Customs and US deliveries

For US deliveries, we pay the import duties and taxes charged at destination. You should not be asked for anything extra when the parcel arrives. If a carrier ever sends you a customs payment notice for one of our parcels, forward it to us before you pay anything, and we will sort it out with them.

The shipping address you enter is used for labels and customs paperwork, so spell the name and address the way they appear on your mail. If a customs office asks for paperwork, we send the description and declared value that match your order. We will not write a lower value to save you money, and we ask you not to request one.

Guest checkout or an account

You can check out as a guest with just your email. Creating an account is optional. An account gives you order history and saved shipping addresses, and your orders show their tracking in one place.

If you check out as a guest, keep the confirmation email. It contains the link to your order page, and that link is how you see the order again.

At checkout

Before you pay, go through the cart summary line by line and check the card names and quantities. The card name on a line is what gets printed, so a wrong name means a wrong card in the box.

Adding cards to your cart does not reserve stock. If stock changes before you pay, checkout highlights the affected cards and asks you to review them. Your cart is not holding anything for you.

Then you pay on the payment page for the currency and amount shown. If you come back to a page that says it could not verify your payment, do not pay a second time. Check your orders first, or contact us with your checkout reference.

After you pay

The first email confirms the order and carries a short order number. Later emails say the order is being prepared, that it has shipped, and that tracking is available once a tracking number has been added. A shipped email for a Standard parcel will tell you it has no tracking, so it is not a sign that something went wrong.

Need to change or cancel? Contact us as soon as possible. If printing has not started, we can change it. Once printing has started, we cannot, because each card is made for that order.

If something arrives wrong

If a card arrives damaged or printed wrong, contact us with the order number and clear photos before you send anything back. We will sort it out, whether that means a reprint or a refund. Please do not post anything back without talking to us first.

Our policy spells out an EU withdrawal right for consumers, which is written with European buyers in mind. If you want to change your mind on a US order, ask us before you ship anything back. Do not guess.

If a parcel goes missing, or tracking stops moving for a long stretch, tell us. We will work with the courier and reship where needed. If the address was wrong on your side, the policy allows us to ask for the direct cost of sending it again, so check the address before you pay.

Anything else goes through the Contact page. Include your order number in the first line, and it saves a round of emails.

Your checklist before you pay

  • Check finish and quantity on every line of the cart summary.
  • Choose your delivery country before you compare totals.
  • Pick Tracked if you want to follow the parcel.
  • US deliveries: import duties and taxes are on us, so nothing to pay at the door.
  • Spell your name and address exactly as they appear on your mail.
  • Save the confirmation email, because its link is your order page.

Start with one small order. A couple of singles in regular finish is the lowest-risk way to see how the cards feel in your hand.
